Since we launched Ubuntu Baba in February 2015, we’ve been able to donate a total of R90,350.26 to organizations helping Mothers and children in need in South Africa. We’ve donated to One Small Act of Kindness, Operation Smile, Milk Matters and the Cape Digital Foundation and we are currently supporting XchangeConnexion and donating towards their Covid-19 Disaster Response Program for the Ward 71 Community in Cape Town.
As a business – we have a responsibility to you, and to ourselves to get involved and do what’s right.
WE DONATE R16 FROM EVERY PURCHASE
In South Africa, high levels of crime and violence interrupt our lives every day. As a country, we are only starting to realize the true level of brokenness and trauma in our society. This violence creates ruptures in our social fabric and contributes to social disorganization. Citizens have to manage a not unrealistic sense of threat on a daily basis which contributes to mental distress, reduced quality of life and the thinning of social bonds.
WHEN YOU SHOP WITH US, YOU SUPPORT THIS COMMUNITY: WARD 71 CAPE TOWN
The #ConnectWithCare Advocacy Ward 71, Cape Town promotes kindness and mindfulness and advocates for active citizenry and social cohesion through their community events. They believe that by each resident practicing self-care and community-care, on a daily basis, they can grow Ward 71, Cape Town into a more inclusive and cohesive community and use this as an example to create a positive ripple effect into the wider world.
